Rainbow Socks

Because... everyone needs a crazy pair of socks....

How could I ever feel upset or sad wearing these?

Yes, my rainbow socks make me so happy!
Im glad that I finally finished them. I knit these using magic loop on size 1 needles, and worked a short row heel. I must say I am quite pleased with how closely the stripes match up.

It is insanely hot outside right now, so sadly, my happy rainbow socks will have to wait until fall.

  1. Those socks rock! I love colorful things. Question, why don't you notice the heel stitches as much, it's like you bought the socks in a store & the pink socks that you are working on your can see the heel stitches a lot more? Is it the pattern?

  3. Wow I love these socks, if I saw them in a shop I would buy them straight away. I know you said that you don't really need a pattern but it would be really helpful if you would describe your pattern as I am scared on knitting socks.

  4. Hi,

    Ok about the rainbow socks...

I cast on 64 stitches, worked 22 rounds or so in k2, p2 ribbing, continued in stockinette st for the leg about 6 inches or so, then I worked a short row heel back and forth on half of the stitches. (To answer "Ash" the short row heel does have a completely different look than a traditional heel flap that is on my other sock.)You can find instructions for a short row heel on the internet, I happened to use instructions out of an old magazine. I then continued in stockinette stitch on all sts for the foot of the sock ending 2 inches before the tip of my toes. I then worked a traditional toe that you will find instructions for on any sock pattern.

I hope that this helps! Email me if you have more questions.

Thankyou for all of your comments! I appreciate every single one!

  5. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these socks! I was wondering how much yarn you used for the pair. I checked out the different Regia yarns and found a couple I like but don't want to have way too much or not enough. Thanks a bunch!!!
