Well... back in May I designed what I thought was a beautiful sock. I submitted it to Knitty.com, and well.... I think you can figure out what happens next....
This is the third time this year that I have had a pattern rejected and frankly I'm starting to think that I should just stick to knitting other peoples patterns than trying to come up with my own.
It is such a pretty sock, I was sure that this was "the one" that was going to make it.
Ahhh.. well....
Don't give up, it may happen one day, and if the pattern works and you're happy with it, you've not failed
ReplyDeleteDon't give up!
ReplyDeleteJust because knitty didn't want it doesnt mean nobody wants to knit it! Dont give up!
ReplyDeleteWas it your Amelie sock pattern that got rejected? Because it is a seriously lovely pattern, and the photos are beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others - don't give up!
I agree, Knitty isnt the be all and end all! I am sure tons of ppl will wnat to knit your pattern, it looks lovely! Dont give up!!
ReplyDeleteThose are really nice ones, Alana! Have you ever considered "Knotions" - http://www.knotionsmag.com/ - for pattern submission? They're relatively new, but seem to be trying to put together a quality pattern site.
ReplyDeleteGirl, just copyright the patterns and self publish. There is no law that says you have to be "accepted" by the establishment to get your work out there. (Gods, I so hate the concept of being validated by "THEM" and "THEY"!) If you like it and the people who see it like it, it is accepted. I saw the sock and frankly, it rocks. Don't you ever, ever let them make yuou feel less than talented. Those of us that know you and your work know that you are very talented. ::::Wanders off muttering about stupid people and what truly constitutes art:::::
