Ever since I was young I wanted to someday have a daughter of my own. While I was pregnant I was of course desperately hoping my child would be healthy but also secretly hoping whatever was in there was female.
Well I got one of those things. A sweet baby girl. With loads of health problems.
Now my baby is three years old (and doing fine healthwise) and I have to say having a girl is so much fun. Especially knitting for one!
That's why I cant help but turn out little girl designs. She inspires me all of the time to create new feminine little things. Over the past week or so I have been feverishly knitting this new design.
"The Spring Garden Tee"
To me this design concept and color reminds me of "all things little girl."
Flowers, cupcakes, tea parties, etc.
It's finally done and I've sent it off to the Tech Editor. It will be available for purchase shortly.
Just like all of my other recent designs, it will be sized from 3 months-size 6.
This is a fun little project. It takes hardly any yarn, (the size 2 took less than 2 balls of Rowan Calmer) and it is knit in one piece from the top down.
I love the fluttery lacy cap sleeves. They are so reminiscent of springtime flowers.
I cant wait to try it on my daughter.

Ohh, I'm so excited to see her in it too. Your pictures are always enjoyable, and she makes all your knits look even more adorable!
It's so pretty! Those little cap sleeves are too cute for words.

I love that sleeve. . .so dainty and feminine. . .I am sure it will be another popular pattern.
I can't wait to see the fit either, so beautiful and feminine, sweet.
I also wanted to mention how much I love that the sizing goes up so high, so that you can knit matchy sets for big and little sisters.
I love to knit things for my daughter, too, but the last thing I knit for her, she said it was too itchy to wear. So all that work for nothing! I really like this little top. It looks so dainty! Maybe I will try again to knit something for her with a different yarn!
it's adorable, any little girl would be so happy to have it♥
Adorable. I may need to try this for my little niece.
I love your pattern. I have 4 boys though. :) Maybe I'll have grandchildren in a few years...but not yet! The photography is priceless, too.
It is really cute and it is definitely something a little girl would love.
But most importantly, I am so happy to read that your little one is doing fine now. I wish you both plenty of great moments, that you will enjoy all the more so.
What a beautiful design! I really like that you design children's clothing (pretty girl stuff in particular)that is knit top down- I just think it makes so much more sense!
Gorgeous! I'm tempted to attempt a grown-up one for me...
So darn cute! :) I will have to knit this for my niece I'm sure :)
Love the girly-girl cap sleeves Alana!
Oh, that is pretty. Love the sleeves. I'm sure your daughter will look lovely in it. :)
This is just adorable. I'm glad this popped up before the chickens! I can't wait to see those, either, however. I'll be eagerly checking for the pattern--every day!
Sigh... for the little girl I never had... That is absolutely adorable.
I'm so glad you design such adorable patterns for little girls. I have 3 granddaughters and am knitting your watermelon sweaters for them this summer. I'll be adding this one to my list as soon as the pattern is available. And thanks for the heads up on the Sublime yarn.
So adorable!
I am with you on having a little girl. I never wanted to make things until God blessed me with identical twin girlies. Totally cutenes overload.
Very cute!!
So pretty! I can't wait to make one for my niece.
