ReplyDeleteAnother great podcast Alana. I have to say that I am in LOVE with Summer Berry. I have been thinking about trying this yarn. Yummy

ReplyDeleteGreat podcast! I found the Bianca's jacket a while ago and I think rowans summer tweed would be perfect for it... my favorite for it is powder.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
As always, I have a new favorite project to think about after hearing you describe how great the Liesl is to knit. And I love the look and description of the Rowan summer tweed. Thanks for another great podcast Alana!
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast! I really enjoyed this week's story - I remember very clearly my first attempt at knitting with a circular needle. My favorite color in the Rowan Tweed is "Blueberry". I may have to place an order . . .
ReplyDeleteI agree, another inspiring podcast. I'd love to make Gisele in the rafia shade of Rowan Summer Tweed. Thanks os much
ReplyDeleteAnother great podcast. Thank you. I love your yarn reviews. The Rowan Summer Tweed I would like to try is Swirl.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful podcast! Love that Liesl pattern! This looks like a great yarn! Love the sprig and rush colors!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your podcast discussing knitting in your color. The Summer Tweed would be perfect for Yseulda's Coraline. I'm dreaming of the pattern now.
ReplyDeleteHi, Alanna, You are to kind to have another contest!!! I love the look of this yarn and would love the "Rush" that you used it looks so pretty! Your podcast was great as usual keep up the grreat work!

Darlene
#13 is my lucky # Woo Hoo!
I love your sweater and your justification of another 'light olive' sweater. I love rowan summer tweed in oat and summer berry. It's such a pretty yarn!
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna,
ReplyDeleteI was really glad to hear you feature Z Knits in your podcast. I really love her podcast, too!
I would love to try the Rowan Summer Tweed in the Toast colorway. I didn't even realize that cotton tweed yarn was out there. So cool!
I like your podcast and the sweater is really cute. I really like this very neutral color.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy listening to your podcast.
ReplyDeleteYour Liesl sweater is lovely, I'm also fan of green.
The Rush color is my favorite.
The theme song makes me smile.
I find myself humming it when I knit
sometimes.
Your knitting is so inspiring! Your cardi is beautiful, and of course it's olive, not green! I love the Bronze!
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast, look forward to each episode. Been listening on an iTouch. LOVE the theme song. I share your obsession with green. I'll bite my knuckle and pick the blue color - powder. Really surprising to hear a sweater can be knit in two days. That's something worth trying.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with knitting a bunch of green sweaters--after all, you're not going to wear them all at once, right?
ReplyDeleteThat said, I was really drawn to the green shades of the Rowan Summer Tweed...it's a toss-up between Sprig and Jardinier. Hmm...
I looked up at the screen at your Liesl while I was knitting the Flower Girl Bodice. It was good timing because I was wondering what I might do with the left over bamboo yarn...hmmm. Speaking of timing, nice work on the swatch story in ep. 16. I love your comic sense of timing on that one!
ReplyDeleteHi Alana,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to every podcast, your voice is so comforting:) Thank you for offering another fun drawing... I would knit Ysolda's Liesl in it, too!
-Angie
I'm a green freak too so I will step outside my zone and go for Sweet Pea. Thanks Alana!
ReplyDeleteI love the Summer Tweed in Reed. And I agree, Rush is definitely not green. Not like Sprig is green. We all do such rationalizing!

ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to knit with something other than wool or a wool blend! I have been so addicted to it for so long! With the warm weather on the way, the Rowan Summer Tweed seems like a great yarn to branch out with. Thanks for another wonderful podcast. I would love either the Mango or the Torrid.
ReplyDeleteFabulous podcast as always! I think I may try Liesl...the Summer Rowan in "Smolder" is my favorite (or maybe I just like the name!!)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed looking at all the Liesl's on Ravelry after you described the versatility of the pattern.
I like the Smolder colorway of the Summer Tweed, although it was hard to decide--all of the colors are beautiful!
Please enter me in the drawing...5 skeins of the powder colorway would be fab!
ReplyDeleteI like the Rowan Summer Tweed in Raffia. Thanks for having the drawing!
ReplyDeleteHi Alana--great podcast as always. Yours is one of my favorites that I anxiously await every time.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad The Dancing Ewe is letting you give some of the Rowan Summer Tweed away because I already ordered some for one project, but I would love to win some in the Sprig colorway for another project.
I love your "not green" sweater. It's a very pretty color. I would love to try the new Rowan Summer Tweed. I like the Raffia color because it go with most everything I own.
ReplyDeleteI love your podcast and that song. I can't keep from singing along. I think Rowan Summer Tweed in Navy would make a wonderful sweater.
ReplyDeleteI got so very behind in listening to podcasts over the past couple of weeks but am on a roll again. I, too, have the Ysolda Teague pattern and coincidentally was looking at it before I listened to your podcast. Wow. I'm thinking of making it for springtime and imagining how it might look in that lovely colour Vanity in the Rowan Summer Tweed...hint, hint!
ReplyDelete;-)
Have you heard the old Irish song, "Green Grow the Rushes, Oh?" That's what I thought of as you talked about the green/not green yarn! Thank you for such a fun podcast. (And I like the Rush color, too!)
ReplyDeleteWow, Alana, your sweater looks great, and rush is a perfect color. It's a neutral, yet with a bit of color. Just wonderful--my choice, too.
ReplyDeleteAs always, thank you for another enjoyable episode.
I am a new listener to your podcast. Your podcast is so original with the music and so much fun to listen to. After starting to listen to your podcasts from the begininng I've finally caught up to your latest episode. Keep up the hard work. I don't know how you manage to get so much done with a toddler.
ReplyDeleteThe yarn giveaways are great! I could see myself knitting my own two daughters something out of the colorway Smolder or even Summer Berry. Thanks!
Thanks for all your podcasts- I just started listening and they are fun and informational. I really like all the links on your blog that lead to such cool people/posts/projects. I would love to knit the Frock Camisole in Jardiner (I love everything green too!)

ReplyDeleteGreat work on your Liesl - you inspired me to finish mine, and it is now drying as I write this. I am now increasingly tempted to follow through on my desire for a Liesl for every season! I just went and stroked a skein of Summer Tweed in my LYS - it's such an interesting yarn with its subtle silk sheen and little nubbly bits. I like it in 'Butter Ball'.
ReplyDeleteAnother great episode, Alana. Your sweater is beautiful, and I've always wanted to try Summer Tweed (possibly in the color "Raffia"?) Maybe this is my chance.

ReplyDeleteWonderful podcast, I love your Liesl. I'm really liking the Navy color way of the Rowan Summer Tweed.
ReplyDeleteRowan Summer Tweed in Torrid would be a lovely Liesl.
ReplyDeleteAlana, I just discovered your podcast and love it. I have had Liesl in my queue forever and loved hearing about your experience knitting it. My favorite color in the Rowan Summer Tweed is Blueberry. Although it was hard narrowing it down to just one color!
ReplyDeleteLove the pod cast, regular listener here. ;-) I would love white to dye with. NUM!
ReplyDeleteThanks for spending the day knitting with me! The podcast was just what I needed this morning when I woke with a headache and just wanted distraction with a little knitting! The Liesel sweater is very nice and it always seems like a better value with so many options to fit different tastes. I like the look of the Rowan Summer Tweed colors, but Oat would be the one I chose.
ReplyDeleteLove your podcast! I also have a strong affection to anything green so, that being said, if I were to win the giveaway...I like the Jardinier.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! By far my favorite color is Smolder!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for a while now, but this is my first podcast. Very enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteI normally resist looking at new yarns. Let's face it, the last thing I need is more new yarn in my stash, right? But you made me do it! I am officially in love with Sprig! Being addicted to green just makes us wonderful people, right? Since I never win drawings, I am now figuring out where I can scrape up some extra cash~ I must have a Sprig Liesl! Thanks a lot... ;o)
I just stumbled on your podcast--and I'm hooked! Thanks!!! I love summer tweed, too--made a Kim Hargreaves sweater a couple years ago and it's become a wardrobe staple in the spring. Would love to make another in blush (pink)!

I"ve been wanting to make Liesl for ages! I agree that this would be a great sweater to have in several colors/yarns, to be worn in each season. The rowan summer tweed looks like some beautiful yarn. I can't see all the colors for some reason, but 'Smolder' really pops out at me. I think 'Denim' sounds like a nice, go-with-anything color, though, too.

Continue to love the podcast, Alana. I love how you make it original with the sound effects, how you "talk to yourself" and the stories. Nicely done! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I think "Rush" must refer to "rushes." Like tall grass at the edge of a swamp. So, yes, defiinitely a green name.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
