A New Stripey Something

The sheep sweater is still being edited.

So while waiting for it, I whipped up this cute stripey thing.

It is knit from the new Spud and Chloe Sweater yarn, which is awesome by the way. It's this great machine washable yarn that is 55% superwash wool and 45% organic cotton. I don't think I've run into a blend like this before! It feels great and most importantly it is really strong and sturdy. This paired with the fact that it can be machine washed and dried makes it so ideal for children's wear. Also it comes in the most fabulous fun colors. There was no way that I could pick just one. Solution? Stripes!

So thus this little stripey bolero was born. It's a super quick, top down knit on size 8 needles. It seriously took me like 3 seconds to make. OK.. so I'm exaggerating... It took me 7 seconds.

It's not done yet, I still need to wash, block, sew in yarn ends and buttons. But there will be a pattern coming out shortly.

I plan on offering this design in a larger size range. (Up to girl's size 12)

Love it! I am always looking for size 12 and it is so hard to find. If you need any test knits, I am raring to go. lol.

Love it! Again, your eye for color, paired with your knack for design, are a plus for the knitting community at large. . .or at least those of us knitting for little girls! ;-)

Sweet! Is the yarn even the tiniest bit itchy? I'd love to try it, but my girly won't wear anything that has even the slightest bit of "itch".

I am seriously in love with this sweater. I have an almost 2 year old, a five year old, and a nine year old. I can just picture all three of them in matching dresses with cute stripey sweaters. I have an illness that makes me want to dress them all alike. I will buy this the second it is avaliable. (and if you need test knitters, I could do three sizes: one knitter, I'm just saying is all ;)

This is just so cute! I'm still working on two other designs of yours! I've got to get going! I'm so glad you are including the larger sizes. Thank you!

About that lollipop, when I was coming back from Nashville, from my visit with my daughter, a man got on the plane with a little girl with a lollipop in her mouth. The flight attendant asked her how she was, and the dad replied that she was just fine; there wasn't much a good lollipop couldn't fix! So true!

I love the pictures of your little girl, but the last picture of your daughter is my favorite on this set.
