I have been knitting mostly for my daughter lately and really wanted to make a few things for myself again. Recently I got this beautiful skein of Handmaiden SeaSilk in the Ireland colorway.
Yarn found here.
I started knitting the shawl pattern Gail. (Pattern here.)
I promise that it will look so much better when its done and all laid out and blocked!
Its going through its crumply messy stage at the moment.
I I love the purl side!
I also started the Vine Yoke Cardigan pattern that was featured in the new issue of Twist Collective.
This is SO fun to knit. Its knit from side to side! Ive never knit a sweater in this style before!
I am using Malabrigo Worsted in Polar Moon.
(The tag actually says that the color is Polar Morn, but Im convinced thats a typo... What is a "Morn" anyways?)
I am supposed to be doing this sweater as a knit-a-long with Hannah Fettig of Knitbot.
She is totally way ahead of me! I need to catch up! :)

Maybe morn would be short for morning?
Yes, it's Polar Morn and Jen's right -- short for morning. But Polar Moon sounds kinda cool too.
I absolutely LOVE the color of your Handmaiden SeaSilk. I love the color green too.
I'm with the other commenters. Morn is usually short for morning and, in a way, that would make sense. I'm sure that a polar morning would be that beautiful grey color.
Love the Ireland. Beautiful green colorway! Can't wait to see more pictures of these projects!
Oooh, looks great, Alana! Did you get the revised Vine Yoke Cardigan pattern from Twist Collective? I had to rip out a bit to compensate for the changes in the new pattern - serves me right for running ahead of you :)
love the colors on both those new projects - must learn to photograph my yarn better!
I have had Gail in my queue forever. That green is gorgeous - I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Like a "September morn"??? Let your poetic side show and it would be for morning...
Gail looks gorgeous! I have Malabrigo Hollyhock on order for the Vine Yoke cardie. Can't wait to see yours.
Oh, I love the Polar Morn, it's nice that yours has some purple in it. I'm a sucker for purple and gray together. Can't wait to see the finished projects (both of them!).
I stand corrected about "Morn"! Thanks to all for clarifying! My sister in law suggested that it was short for morning but Ive never heard morning abbreviated before! I guess it just sounded silly to me! Boy was I wrong! :)
I love both of your projects. I just made the shawl a favorite on Ravelry and looked at the website for the cardigan. They are both going to be beautiful!
Faith
The new projects will be lovely, when finished. I'll look forward to seeing them. Yes, I think Morn is short for morning!
You have inspired me to finish my projects more quickly now. I let put knitting last on my list, and now I make sure I put time aside each day to knit. There is so much out there I want to knit!!
Lovely yarns, lovely projects. I did a Clapotis out of the Handmaiden last year and absolutely loved working with that yarn. Enjoy!
That Seasilk has been calling to me for a long time - maybe yours will push me to finally buy some! And can't wait to see your cardigan - love that pattern!
A Handmaiden silk yarn called Ireland? I gotta get me some of that. Lovely colours.
I'm sure I can see the exact blue/grey shade of the rain we had here this morning against a backdrop of wet lush fields. Let's say that some of that blue is also the sea peeking out between the Wicklow hills on my commute to DD's school. I'll get a photo if I can and you can compare for yourself!
I love love love your malabrigo. I think Morn and Moon both work equally well--it looks like that beautiful grey sky that comes with the sunrise, just the touch of the pastels reflecting through it...and the moon not yet hidden for the day!
I just finished my Vine Yoke. I feel like it was a wonderful novel I didn't want to put down, and I'm envious that you're starting it for the first time... have fun.
OOhh, I love this yarn...I must order a skein!!
