Another Fruktträdgård

Because one just wasn't enough.

Blue Frukttradgard Hat framed

I'm afraid this blog post is terribly overdue.
I completed and gifted this second Frukttradgard hat to my friend weeks ago now!

I learned with this project that there is something to be said for knitting the same pattern twice. It went much more quickly and smoothly the second time. It was a wonderfully relaxing knit.

And the great news is.. I even saw my friend wearing it the other night.
When I actually see my gifted knits in use, (Which doesn't happen often) it is so exciting! When I find someone appreciative of my hand knits, I want to do nothing but knit them things for the rest of my life.
Seeing my knits being loved and worn brings me great satisfaction as a knitter.

I knitted this one out of Road to China light in the aquamarine colorway. Pretty isn't it?

  6. The color is really gorgeous. I have to say, I have yet to see someone wearing something I made them. I think if I actually did, it might just make my day (or year)!

  11. That's such a pretty hat, but I'm scared to say the name. It's not that I don't know how to pronounce it, it's just that I'm afraid I'll mess it up and end up with something obscene. LOL

  13. That is a gorgeous color - such a calming blue :) I don't know if you remember the yarn you helped me buy to make my 2 sons scarves I knew they'd never wear. I remember it well because that was the project that got me back into knitting after 10 years. Well, its been almost 2 years now, and just yesterday, one of them came into the room with his scarf tied around his head, ninja style! And I have to say, I was delighted it was getting some use :)

  16. Yes, absolutely pretty! I love the ribbon too. Aside from baby knits, I've never gifted any knitted things (I'm the lucky recipient!), but it sure was very nice to learn that the first one I knit was really loved by the little girl I knitted it for!!!

  17. I know what you mean about seeing your knits in action. The BEST, in my opinion, is when you bump into someone unexpectedly and they're wearing something you made them. That's happened to me before with some baby hat gifts. Heaven! :)
