Blogiversary Book Giveaway!

In celebration of my four year "blogiversary" I have a nice stack of knitting books to give away!

I love knitting books. Love. Them.
There are so many fabulous books out there, but here are a few newer releases that will really round out your knitting library.

Starting at the top of the stack...

What a completely charming little book this is. This isn't just a book of knitting patterns, a book of essays, or a recipe book.. it is actually all three. And it is put together in a very touching way. This book is written and illustrated by Michelle Edwards and in it she shares the role that knitting has played in her relationships with family, friends and her community throughout her life.

A great, go-to accessory book of 60 patterns all using Cascade 220 Sport yarn. There are 20 hats, 20 scarves, and 20 mitten designs for you to choose from. This book offers many cute patterns in a wide variety of styles so there is something here for everyone. This is a great resource for knitted gift ideas.

If you enjoyed Wendy Bernards first book offering, Custom Knits, as I did, then you will also love Custom Knits 2. As someone who loves sweater knitting, I really appreciate Wendy's amazing insight on how to plan, alter, add-on, convert, and customize sweater patterns. This book contains tons of extremely useful information as well as several beautiful garment designs. An amazing publication for sure.. although the pictures of the women modeling their sweaters with their bikini bottoms will always make me chuckle just a little bit. :)

In this book, Vicki Stiefel and Lisa Souza offer up a fun and relaxed approach to knitting with their 10 secrets to knitting success. Its a great read with lots of fun stories, information, and interviews.. not to mention... some seriously cute patterns too! I desperately am wanting to make my daughter the
Princess Garden Skirt.

Finishing School: A Master Class for Knitters

Ok... I seriously am in love with this book! My time as a knitter has taught me how important finishing is for every knitted project. This book covers it all. Zippers.. seaming.. steeking.. blocking.. everything. It's a great reference book. I think that everyone should own a copy!

To enter to win this collection of five fabulous books, please leave a comment (including contact information) under this post. In your comment I'd love to hear how long you have been a reader of Never Not Knitting and what your favorite knitting book is. And no.. you don't have to say Coastal Knits. :)

I will randomly pick and announce a winner from among the comments left on Sunday December 4th.
You have until December 3rd to enter.

Remember only one comment per person please. And if you do not leave any contact information for me such as an email address, ravelry id, or so forth, I will have to pick another winner if your name is chosen.
I have had too many problems with unclaimed prizes and it's important that I am able to get ahold of you if you win. Thank you!

And just to make sure.. you do know about the blogiversary pattern sale, right?

My favorite knitting book would have to be Stitch N Bitch. It is my go to resource book when I am unsure about something. It has lots of wear on it!

  6. I've been a Never Not Knitting Reader for at least 3 of the 4 years :). The books I seem to make the most patterns out of have been Last Minute Knitted Gifts and More Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. I love knitting books, too and never turn down a chance to add to my collection. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  10. I've only just found your blog a few months ago! It's very inspiring and I love the beautiful photos.

I live in Sweden and unfortunately the range of knitting books is very small here. Almost no shops carry any international titles (well the online shops do, but that's not nearly as fun).
My favourite knitting book is a japanese collection of patterns that I found at a bargain in an used books shop. I don't read japanese so I've got no idea of the name of the book.

  93. Wow, those are wonderful books.

I'm not sure how long I've been following your podcast - maybe a couple years? (Once I started listening, I went back and listened to all the old podcasts as well!)

My favorite knitting book? Hm. I like the Mason-Dixon books, and Stephanie Pearl McPhee's Knitting Rules. I love the photography in Shear Spirit. But, truth be told, my go-to book when I have a knitting question, is The Interweave Knitter's Companion.

Thanks, and give that little guy a hug!

  183. I've been a reader for a few years. When I started I went back to the beginning for continuity. As the saying goes, you've come a long way, baby. Congrats on your book.
I love knitting books too. I'm not sure I have a favorite, but my favorite type is technical rather than pattern books. I'm hotknitter on ravelry.flutsies

  185. I've been reading NNK for just under a year now, but fell in love with your designs from the start. I don't know that I could pick a favorite knitting book, but the one that I'm currently getting the most use out of is Itty Bitty Toys. (Lots of Christmas presents coming out of there this year.)

  186. This is hotknitter again. In my earlier post the word flutsies is not part of my ravelry name. It was the word verification I had to type in order to post my comment and I didn't catch that it was typed as part of it. Ignore this post for your random generator. Apologies.

  191. I've been reading your blog for over a year now... and my favorite knitting book? Wow, it depends on what I'm working on at the moment - for instance, right now it's Vintage Baby Knits. But my 'go to' when I have any issue, need clarification is my Stitch-n-Bitch, which I taught myself to knit from just over 2 years ago.

  192. These books look wonderful! Thank you for sharing! What a wonderful giveaway! I have been reading NNK since this past summer after I purchased your beautiful Shawl Collared Cowl pattern at my LYS and emailed you with a question and you quickly responded (much appreciated!). The photos of your daughter modeling your knits put a smile on my face ~ so adorable! Fave knitting books are The Knitter’s Book of Finishing Techniques (Nancie Wiseman) and Sally Mellville’s The Purl Stitch. karenslab@yahoo.com

  196. Oh, fun! I've only been reading your blog for a few months now. I learned to knit just recently (finished my first hat last night!), and have only been consulting online resources so far. Now that I know what I'm doing a bit more, I am itching to get a book of patterns to try out.

  197. Sweet! One of the books your giving away is one that I've been wanting!!! And I've never even seen the others! Looks like a great line up! My favorite knitting book that I have is: "knit-a-long", it has incredible patterns such as the Eden scarf, the meathead hat, the pinwheel blanket, to name a few! I'd say the "coastal knits" was my fav but then I'd be lying because I haven't scraped up the money to buy it yet :( it looks awesome tho!!! I've been following the blog now for hmmm... Maybe 7- 8 months and am hooked! Happy Anniversary! I'm looking forward to seeing more anniversaries in the future! My email: naturally.artsea@gmail.com ... There's NO way I wouldn't claim my prize!!!!
