Blogiversary Book Giveaway!

In celebration of my four year "blogiversary" I have a nice stack of knitting books to give away!

I love knitting books. Love. Them.
There are so many fabulous books out there, but here are a few newer releases that will really round out your knitting library.

Starting at the top of the stack...

What a completely charming little book this is. This isn't just a book of knitting patterns, a book of essays, or a recipe book.. it is actually all three. And it is put together in a very touching way. This book is written and illustrated by Michelle Edwards and in it she shares the role that knitting has played in her relationships with family, friends and her community throughout her life.

A great, go-to accessory book of 60 patterns all using Cascade 220 Sport yarn. There are 20 hats, 20 scarves, and 20 mitten designs for you to choose from. This book offers many cute patterns in a wide variety of styles so there is something here for everyone. This is a great resource for knitted gift ideas.

If you enjoyed Wendy Bernards first book offering, Custom Knits, as I did, then you will also love Custom Knits 2. As someone who loves sweater knitting, I really appreciate Wendy's amazing insight on how to plan, alter, add-on, convert, and customize sweater patterns. This book contains tons of extremely useful information as well as several beautiful garment designs. An amazing publication for sure.. although the pictures of the women modeling their sweaters with their bikini bottoms will always make me chuckle just a little bit. :)

In this book, Vicki Stiefel and Lisa Souza offer up a fun and relaxed approach to knitting with their 10 secrets to knitting success. Its a great read with lots of fun stories, information, and interviews.. not to mention... some seriously cute patterns too! I desperately am wanting to make my daughter the
Princess Garden Skirt.

Finishing School: A Master Class for Knitters

Ok... I seriously am in love with this book! My time as a knitter has taught me how important finishing is for every knitted project. This book covers it all. Zippers.. seaming.. steeking.. blocking.. everything. It's a great reference book. I think that everyone should own a copy!

To enter to win this collection of five fabulous books, please leave a comment (including contact information) under this post. In your comment I'd love to hear how long you have been a reader of Never Not Knitting and what your favorite knitting book is. And no.. you don't have to say Coastal Knits. :)

I will randomly pick and announce a winner from among the comments left on Sunday December 4th.
You have until December 3rd to enter.

Remember only one comment per person please. And if you do not leave any contact information for me such as an email address, ravelry id, or so forth, I will have to pick another winner if your name is chosen.
I have had too many problems with unclaimed prizes and it's important that I am able to get ahold of you if you win. Thank you!

And just to make sure.. you do know about the blogiversary pattern sale, right?

I have been reading this blog for about 1 year now after stumbling upon it purely by accident. Now I check in at least a couple of times a week to see if there are new posts! I love it! My favorite knitting book would have to be Stitch N Bitch. It is my go to resource book when I am unsure about something. It has lots of wear on it!

I've been a Never Not Knitting Reader for at least 3 of the 4 years :). The books I seem to make the most patterns out of have been Last Minute Knitted Gifts and More Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. I love knitting books, too and never turn down a chance to add to my collection. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I've only just found your blog a few months ago! It's very inspiring and I love the beautiful photos.

I live in Sweden and unfortunately the range of knitting books is very small here. Almost no shops carry any international titles (well the online shops do, but that's not nearly as fun).
My favourite knitting book is a japanese collection of patterns that I found at a bargain in an used books shop. I don't read japanese so I've got no idea of the name of the book.

I have been following for a couple of months now. I can't say that I have a favourite book. I tend to just look for individual patterns rather than knit my way through a book.

What a lovely stack of books! I've been hankering after the 10 Secrets of Laidback Knitters, but I received a lot of books for my birthday and haven't been through all of them yet, so I'm holding off on buying. Winning would be even better! My favorite knitting book is EZ's Knitting Without Tears. It's just like having your favorite aunt knitting with you.

Hi, I'm brand new to your blog! I only discovered it five minutes ago, reading a post by Through the Loops! and I've just now subscribed. I haven't knitted for 25 yrs, since my girls were little, but now, with my 1st grandchild due in about 5 weeks, I think it's time I returned to it! My favourite knitting book? I can only tell you about my fave knitting pattern mags from way back - Anny Blatt. I love her designs, knitted heaps of them. Thanks for the giveaway!

Wow, what a great prize! I have been following your blog as long as I can remember. Maybe 2 years? It's hard to pick a favorite knitting book, I have a few favorites for different reasons, but if I had to pick one I would pick A Knitting Glossary by EZ and Meg Swansen. It's not really a book, it's a CD, but surely they would have a CD player on the desert island, right?

As for my favorite knitting book: Funnily enough, my last two FO's and my current project are all from Coastal Knits - but my all-time favorite knitting book has to be Knitting Without Tears.

I have been listening to NNK since the beginning and reading the blog since the podcast began. I am glad things are going so well with the baby and it's nice to "hear" your voice, Alana. :-)

I think my favorite knitting book is Aran Knitting by Alice Starmore. I must have checked this out from the library 10 times before it was re-released last year. It has a wonderful combo of history (Love how she debunks a bunch of colorful myths about cabled knitting), how-to, and luscious patterns...many are dated now but most are still eye candy. :-)

I have a whole bookshelf dedicated to my knitting books (and a whole other one dedicated to books like a Knitter's Home Companion- with stories/essays about knitting) so I'm not really sure I can pick one. I really like a book I can read though, so I think I'd go for something like Knitting Without Tears by EZ or Knitting Rules by Stepahanie Pearl Mc-Phee.
I did recently acquire The Opinionated Knitter and I really like that one as well, because it has very cute photography and I enjoy the bits from EZ's personal diary.
