  3. I love knitting and I love books. I bought the Annie and the Swiss Cheese Scarf book for Christmas for my 3 yo granddaughter. We love reading it together. Today we cut out the paper dolls.

    Recently I made 10/stitch blanket and used up lots of leftover yarns and my handspun. I lined it and my family is happy with it.

    I think both books sound wonderful. I love the Gramps cardigan you made for your son, so I'm sure Kate's book is great. And I admired "Knit Red" at Vogue Knitting Live.

  39. I like what you said about the Beekeeper Quilt being like a scrapbook. That's how I feel about my Sock yarn blankie. My daughter loves to sit with it and ask about the various squares. And I love to tell the stories about where the leftovers came from. She also likes to pick out the squares from her own socks. :)

  44. Today is my daughter's 12th birthday. As she chose to play in the park with her friends rather than with me I got chance to pull out her "heirloom" project to work on while catching up with podcasts. I laughed out loud when I heard that you too had been stung by the hexipuff bug! Mine was always planned to be a long theme project and as a memory quilt for her to take away to University. I am glad to har that there are others as sentimental and obsessed as I am ! Welcome to the club!

  54. I'm glad to hear and be able to relate to other knitters, it's very refreshing. I would enjoy either book but would probably get more initial use out of the Knit Clothes Kids Love so that I can create some 'cool' looks for my now five year old girl who suddenly cares what her friends think.   77. I have resisted the lure of the Beekeeper's Quilt for so long. Yet as I listened to you talk about it, I found myself calculating how many hexipuffs I would have to make a week in order to finish the quilt this new year. Then I consider that I live in South Texas & seldom have a need for such a heavy blanket.

    I think I'll do some little log cabin squares instead.

  78. Hi Alana! I really enjoyed your podcast this month. I went and bought the Beekeeper's Quilt pattern. I can't seem to stop making those hexipuffs. My little 2 year old has been tossing them around the house. They are a hit. I loved what you said about how they could be a scrapbook of all my knitting. That is exactly how I'm going to look at it when it's done.
