Clara

Occasionally I find and knit up a pattern that truly satisfies me as a knitter.
Everything about it is enjoyable and comes together in a beautiful way.
This is exactly how I feel about my most recent knit. The Clara pattern.

Not only was this pattern fun and interesting to knit, but the dress is too adorable for words. It's what I would call.. painfully adorable. The details kill me. I just love it so much.

ALSO... I was able to knit this entire dress with one skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light that was languishing in my yarn stash. It is not often that you can knit an entire garment from only one skein!

I knit this little dress as a present to take to a baby shower this coming weekend for my friend (and Botanical Knits model) Courtney who is expecting her first baby this January.

I hope she loves this sweet little dress as much as I do! :)

I have admired this pattern, but have never knitted it. I love yours, the colour is just so classic.

It's stunning! So tiny, and so perfect. I was gifted a Clara dress for my daughter when she was a baby, and I loved it!

I totally agree! I made this for a friend's granddaughter several years ago. Loved knitting it! Yours is gorgeous!

I wish I can just buy the pattern but it only comes with a kit.

I am coming out of lurker mode to say I love this pattern. Such a sweet dress, fancy but not too. Great work. If only I had a little girl to knit for! Putting this in my Ravelry queue for when I do.

Gorgeous - I just love this pattern and yarn choice. I am expecting #4 in a few weeks and am making the Rio dress. It's similar, but I love the details on this one even more!

Oh my! that is adorable! Thanks for the link & feedback about the pattern, I am always on the lookout for gorgeous knits for my baby girl...sometimes I buy a pattern & it is awful - so it is good to find a recommended one!

That is so cute! I love it! I want to knit that pattern now, too.

Tosh Merino Light is so cozy and wonderful to knit. I just used it for a shawlette. : )

ADORABLE! STUNNING! FABULOUS! I currently don't have a little enough girl to knit this for but when did that ever stop me from adding a pattern to my collection? It is currently offered only as a kit but I say, get it anyway and use the yarn from the kit for another project. :-) Thank you for sharing... Courtney & her baby are both very lucky girls!

I love this! I would love to knit it for a future grand baby ! I won't order the kit, though, not without seeing the yarn first! I wish that the pattern was available!

The dress is an old traditional Norwegian pattern, and is available for free here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/srtomasetti/clara

That is beautiful in your MadTosh yarn!
I too knitted Clara in the original Isager yarn and was so disappointed to find that despite the rear opening it did not fit over my granddaughter's head :(

What size did you knit up? It's beautiful!

That's adorable! I only wish the pattern weren't only available as a kit.

What a beautiful job you did on the clara dress. I also love the little goat. I know what you mean sewing lots of pieces together. I am more for in the round and picking up stitches. The retreat sounds beyond awesome.
