Remember this?
I purchased this beautiful skein of Sea Silk when I went to Santa Barbara last. Read more about that trip here. I am having a hard time finding the perfect pattern to make with this one skein.
Be sure to leave your email address or blog address so that I can contact you if you are the winner!
Contest Guidelines:
-All pattern ideas must be submitted by March 1st.
-I am looking for something wearable that will show off this yarn beautifully.
(Ideally I'd like to make a lacy shell or shrug.)
-The pattern must be able to be made with only 400 meters because that is all I have.
-The pattern must contain a picture of the finished item.
-Most importantly there will be a prize for the best suggestion. I will contact you if you are the winner and I will give you a choice between prizes.
I look forward to receiving all of your comments!

Hey,Alana! If you have "Victorian Lace Today" there's an easy lace scarf in there called "Scarf with the Striped Border" that's perfect for Sea Silk. Here's my project on Ravelry, if you haven't already seen it: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/CatMyers/victorian-lace-today-scarf-with-the-striped-border
I actually was concerned I wouldn't have enough so I only did 5 repeats instead of 7, and I had lots left over, so it's plenty for a really nice scarf. It's my favorite scarf.
How about a beautiful scarf like Branching Out scarf on knitty. That is beautiful yarn.
I found this pretty shug on ravelry. But, I think that you need more yarn then what you have.

You could do a lacy camisole like mine--I made a modified Ballet Camisole from Magknits with an empire waist and lace pattern

Or Orangina

or Goddess

Or my personal favorite idea--Rowan Butterfly! (the tank version)

The yardage might be a bit short on any cami.
There is always Melon, to take a page out of Grumperina's book.

I too just have one skein (as did she), so I am watching your blog AND seriously considering this piece
I have one skein of seasilk in another colorway, but I think yours will be perfect for the Moonlight sonata triangular shawl by Elann free pattern. It's your exact yardage too.
I used one skein of sea silk to make the Evelyn Clark's flower basket shawl (you can see a photo of the finished shawl here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/MLO/flower-basket-shawl). It came out beautifully.
There's a lot of shawl patterns up here. LOL! Maybe I need to make one. :D
I can't wait to see what pattern you have picked to make with that beautiful colored yarn.
