That was a funny story about the scarf! I'll try to think of a personal knitting story of my own and send it in if I come up with something. Thanks for another entertaining podcast!
ReplyDeleteI loved the new episode, and congrats on the new arrangement with sponsors, etc. It's going to be great for you (and for us too...thanks!!). Dr. Gemma is a hoot, loved the scarf story.

Love your dad's sweater! I also love the colors you chose for your Selbu Modern. It's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnother great podcast! Love the scarf story...Dr. Gemma is a hoot, she's a great lady.
ReplyDeleteI just love your podcast. You really make me laugh. I'm a fairly new knitter and haven't attempted any sort of colorwork yet, but I really do like the Selbu hat, so just maybe...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. It's helpful to know what others think about a product before I invest in it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this episode very much!
ReplyDeleteThe shetland wool sounds wonderful. I would love to win some!
I just listened to the latest episode, and I agree with your assessment of the Shetland Spindrift yarn. I just received my very first order today, as a matter of fact! Now I want to order more so I can make that hat too!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to hear from you again. The sweater for your daughter is absolutely ADORABLE! My daughter (also 3 years old) is VERY picky about what she wears, but I'm going to show her your pictures in hopes that she will want to wear that sweater too!
ReplyDeleteAnother fantastic episode! One of my "fearless knitting" goals for 2009 is to try color work. Your podcast really inspired me. I want to try the Endpaper Mitts.
ReplyDeleteAlana! This episode was great! You've definitely made me want to visit the Shetland Isles... or at least order some of that Shetland wool (which I'm sure my hubby would like more)! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteGreat episode! I've never tried color work but am inspired after seeing THAT hat.
ReplyDeleteSince you have a young daughter too, I'd love to get your feedback on my etsy store:

Thanks~
Your Playful Stripes sweater turned out great! I really enjoyed the photos of your daughter modeling it. And your hat ... beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for podcasting.
I'm so happy I "stumbled upon" you at the shop. You are officially my knitting guru now ;) I love your taste in projects and colors! Thank you for the podcast, with its purls of wisdom, product reviews, and humor!! Great job!
ReplyDeletep.s. I'm finishing up my entrelac scarf, and the Druid mittens look like the perfect, small but challenging (to say the least) next project.
OMGosh! I forgot to comment when I first heard the podcast! Hi, again, Alana! Great podcast, adn I love the hat pattern. . .lately I have made some hats, I like them, quick adn fun! And I am going to have to keep my eyes open for the yarn featured. . .always like to try new yarns! Keep up the good work. . .
ReplyDeleteYour Selbu Modern is beautiful. Thank you for another great podcast.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are always so lovely, Alana. Your dad looks fantastic in The Dad Sweater and Ava looks adorable in everything. I haven't done much stranded knitting but I am going to give it a try with the amazing discount on yarn from your generous sponsor, Dancing Ewe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your yarn review. I've never knit with Spindrift, but after your review I would like to give it a try. I also too fell in love with Eunny's sweaters and the Selbu Modern hat. I only did color work once many years ago and have been itching to give it another try.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great podcast.
Rose
I love your podcast! It's great! I really love your project using the Spindrift yarn.
ReplyDeleteI have only knit a few items in fair isle and would love to win this to give it a try!

Great podcast. You really drew me in with the Shetland wool description. I enjoyed the segment so much I went back and listened to it again.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the give-away!
Thank you for including Dr. Gemma! I love her!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your podcast; thanks for all the hard work!
Thanks for the podcast. I really like listening to your show. The sound quality is good and you talk quite understandable for a foreigner. The Dad sweater is awsome. It suits him well.
ReplyDeletegreatings Jenneke
Thanks for another great episode. I'm not really a hat person either, but now I'm inspired to knit the Seibu Modern. It's gotten cold enough that a hat would be nice.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter and her sweater are too cute! And really, you wouldn't want to do all that work and only get a few months out of that sweater, would you? Your podcasts are great, and I'm ready to try some of that Spindrift yarn. Thanks for podcasting---I'm looking forward to your new schedule.
ReplyDeleteI think the colors you chose for your hat are so beautiful, I like them better than your favorite Ravelry Selbu. I never would have put those 2 colors together! Thanks for the hook-up with the Dancing Ewe! I think I will finally make those Endpaper Mitts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your latest podcast. You are by far my favorite knitting podcaster. I enjoyed your story on Shetland wool and though I have never knitted with more than one color, you have inspired me to give it a go.
ReplyDeleteI just started listening to your podcast recently. I've gotten caught up with the past episodes, and I've really enjoyed them - thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe Dad Sweater is awesome!

I just listened for the first time. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI love the podcast I only just found it and just had to listen to all of the past episodes. Also your hat is beautiful hope that it gets you over your hat phobia.
ReplyDeleteThe hat is so beautiful. I hope you wear it for two reasons, you look great in it and I want to see it : ) I loved the story about the yarn. It sounds special and the Shetland Isles sounds like a great travel destination too.
ReplyDeleteLove the new Pod Cast.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sponsorship!
BTW,the Jamesons works great for lace. You might want to share the info with your listeners. Your sponsors will appreciate it too!
Happy knititng,

Great Podcast - and the hat is ooohhh sooo gorgeous! I'm thinking I need to try some of that wool!
ReplyDeleteHello! This is the first ever knitting podcast I've ever listened to. I was looking at a friend's blog and saw a link to your page and got curious. I picked up my knitting project and began to listen. And now I'm hooked. Knitting and podcasts are a match made in heaven! I loved your fantasies of living in Scotland! The knitting story was hilarious! I had tears running down my cheeks! Probably because I am both a new knitter and an young mommy. Your song is great! I can't wait to play it for my husband. :)
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm voting the Selbu hat the best non-sock use of sock yarn!
ReplyDeleteAnd on a side note, I now have the Song of the Cebu running through my head!
I'm working on a knitting story for you too. After 10 years of knitting, I have plenty. Just need to write them out.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteFinally got a chance to listen to your latest podcast. Thanks for doing them, I really appreciate listening to you talk of knitting while I am knitting. Your Selbu hat is beautiful--wear it proudly!
Gimme that yarn ;)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this podcast as it made me think about this yarn more. I know that on of my LYS has gotten a bunch of this yarn in, and now I have some history behind it. Thanks!

Thank you SO much for your great podcast. I look forward to listening to each episode, knitting needles in hand. Your Selbu Modern turned out fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe scarf story was hilarious! She sounds alot like someone I know. I finally caught up with all the podcast, and really enjoyed them. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove the hat! Thanks for a great podcast :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed listening to episode 12. Loved the scarf story--it made me laugh out loud. I knit that same scarf with that same yarn, so I could really relate. Your hat is beautiful, too. Thanks for making my day a little brighter!
ReplyDeleteI just listened to episode 12 while going for a walk--it's a gorgeous day, and there's nothing like pampering myself with the sights/sounds of nature while being entertained by an episode of one of my favorite podcasts. You have such a talent, and the scarf story in this episode was side-splittingly hilarious. Let's not discuss the way people were looking at me as I walked up the road, giggling to myself...
ReplyDeleteFor the past two days of my knitting, I've sat and listened to all your podcasts back to back. Honestly I believe it's the best one I've listened to yet. I've never bored, your voice sounds "natural", there's an unrehearsed quality that I love, and the information and stories are relavent to knitting today. In short I LOVE IT ! And I'm so thankful that you are willing to do giveaways and give us all a chance to win something as awesome as yarn !
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new sponsor! Am enjoying the podcast, the stories, the product reviews, the encouragement! (Is your husband a musician?)
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying your podcasts. I appreciate the effort you put in to the sound effects to make each story enjoyable. I'd love to enter your draw for the yarn mentioned in this episode too!
