Loved this episode's story and everything else. Thanks for another episode!
ReplyDeleteTotally great podcast as usual. Also love MMMalabrigo. Love the colorway Apricot. I made snapdragon tam and gloves out of malabrigo apricot. Feels so great on and looks good too!!
ReplyDeleteLoved the podcast as usual. I'd love to try the Malabrigo!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Malibrigo. It is the softest, squishiest yarn I've worked with. One of my favorite colorways is a rich, beautiful orange called Glazed Carrots!
ReplyDeleteHow funny is that?! Just yesterday I realised I was falling deep, deep into Malabrigo world... Contrary to what you have, it is not readily available here in central Europe, so I have to take what I can get! To try it out, I knit a Just Enough Ruffles scarf with Malabrigo Worsted recently and I LOVE it!!! All that softness, squishiness, lightness and warmth, siiiggghhh...... However, I was a bit disappointed that one skein wasn't really enough and I had to adjust the width to make it work... Still, even before listening to your podcast, I had decided to order enough for the Vine Yoke (yeah, I know!) and a couple more in a different colour for another JERuffles scarf ;))) Now the colour I'm dying to try is Applewood... Smitten.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I look forward to your regular podcasts - I caught up on 20 of them over the Nantucket cardigan, gosh, that seemed to grow fast ;o!!!
I love nalabrigo...however, I didn't like winding my malabrigo lace by hand ;)
ReplyDeleteI love color Turner the most. I've only used the worsted once so far and have Turner waiting for socks. I'd love to have more to knit something else. This is one of my favorite yarns. The colors are luscious.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty new to Malabrigo and have yet to purchase and knit with it. Every Friday Night at my LYS's knitting group, somebody has a WIP with it and I can't help but pet and caress it. I would love to try the Malabrigo Worsted in Jewel Blue.
ReplyDeleteI loved you knitting story on this episode. My first sweater was also the "Not Your Standard-issue Sweatshirt". (And it's still a UFO, oops)
can't wait to get on the treadmill this morning with this episode.... and of course I'd love the Malabrigo:)
ReplyDeleteGreat episode Alana!
ReplyDeleteMalabrigo isn't available at my LYS's so I haven't had the chance to pet it yet but it sounds wonderful.
I love the Rhodesia colourway.
Hi Alana!
ReplyDeleteAnother great podcast. I haven't knit with Malabrigo yet, and now I am excited to. I'd love to try the Polar Moon color in the worsted weight. Thanks for this opportunity.
Elly

ReplyDeleteI Love Malabrigo so this was a great podcast... all of your podcasts are great! I just finished my first Malabrigo sweater (for my Mom). I love the Olive Worsted Malabrigo at Dancing Ewe Yarns. I can see why you like it so much!

ReplyDeleteMalabrigo is not easy to hunt down in Britain at all, and I would relish the chance to knit with Marine.
Just as Episode 27 came out, I started my first Malabrigo project: An Ishbel shawl made of the Silky Merino in 'Snow Bird', a varigated menagerie of fall colors. Wow! It is dreamy...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color of Worsted Merino on Dancing Ewe's website is 'Amoroso'.

Love love love all Malabrigo!!! My favorite yarn!

ReplyDeleteMalabrigo@ Apple Green or Marine
ReplyDeleteI do like Malabrigo yarn, especially the Amoroso colorway. thanks for another great podcast.

ReplyDeleteGreat episode this week! I have a new love for Malabrigo sock, it's so nice to work with. I have knit one hat with the worsted and love that too.

ReplyDeleteHi there - found you from the Mal Junkies board, thanks for the chance to win a skein of heaven! Looking forward to getting to know your podcasts and blog.
ReplyDeletePicking just one color is amazingly hard! I'd say natural, polar morn, or paris nights!
Verde esperanza is my absolute favorite. I love green, especially Green Green, if you know what I mean ;o)
ReplyDeleteI just recently started knitting with malabrigo, and now I understand why people call it yarncrack. I just love the worsted! My favorite color is Marine.

ReplyDeleteCrystal
I'm new to your podcast (going to listen right after I post this comment!) and I'm in love with Malabrigo. I'd try every color, if I could, but I think the next one I'd like to try is Col China.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to discovering that this is another podcast I can't live without, LOL!
I don't think it would be weird to have three Ysolda projects on the needles. She has such clever designs, who could blame you?

ReplyDeleteI love love love this podcast. I was going to save it to listen until tomorrow, but I stayed up late knitting just so I could hear it tonight :)
I have admired and squeezed Malabrigo, but never knitted with it, yet... I think the Polar Moon (Morn?) color would be yummy to knit with... or maybe the Sapphire Green (I do like green).
ReplyDeleteI was knitting a vest for my husband while listening to the story about the "Malabrigo Not Meant for Me." I sure hope his vest (a Christmas surprise) ends up being wearable!!!

ReplyDeleteAna (anahuron@gmail.com)
Ooooh, Malabrigo is the best! I'd love to win a skein of the Blue Graphite - I've never seen that color before and I think it would be gorgeous as an accent to the couple of skeins of Pagoda I've got.
ReplyDeleteWhile I was listening to the podcast, I was happily knitting my February Lady Sweater in Verde Adriana. After I finish a row (and sometimes while in the middle), I pause to caress my knitting. It's so soft!
ReplyDeleteI had already finished the yoke when I realised that my raglan increases were not done correctly. So today I frogged everything. A bummer, but still, I get to knit longer with this yarn. I'm totally addicted.
I'd like to win a skein of Amoroso.
I enjoyed this episode, as usual! I've never even touched Malabrigo, but I think I'm ready...
ReplyDeleteI personally believe that any pattern can be adapted to use Malabrigo....
ReplyDeleteI would love a skein of Sapphire Green Worsted
I'm knitting the forset canopy shawl out of Mal worsted in Frank Ochre right now. I LOVE Malabrigo! Thanks for talking about it on your podcast! If my name is chosen I would love a skein of Blue Graphite.

ReplyDeleteAlana,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your cheerful and informative podcast. I always look forward to it and am so inspired. I've heard so much about Malabrigo, and no one local carries it. Maybe this is the time for my first Dancing Ewe order!
Cynthia (imabizzybee on ravelry)
The Indiecita colorway is beautiful in the Malabrigo yarn !
ReplyDeleteMalabrigo Moss - cuz I love green! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Malabrigo. It's soo wonderful to work with! My favorite is Amoroso.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your podcast and I am already addicted :)

ReplyDeleteI enjoy your podcast quite a bit, and was finally moved to post and try for some yarn by your claim that one skein can make a nice project. I'd love to give Amoroso a whirl! (gotta love those malabrigo reds)
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast. Really loved the product reviews and drooled over your projects.
ReplyDeleteI immediately looked in my stash for malabrigo and remembered that I have some malabrigo lace that I bought for a shawl KAL. You've made me so excited about it that I'll be casting on for it this weekend.
Thanks, Alana
Lani in Central Oregon
Love your designs, I have added some to my cart in ravelry. I would also love to try the malabrigo in ravelry red.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode. The story was so sweet and inspiring for those knits that don't turn out as we hope.
ReplyDeleteI just recently started listening to your podcast, and it is by far the best podcast I've listened to (and now it's the only one) :)
ReplyDeleteI've been itching to try some of this Malabrigo that I've heard to much about. Thanks for the chance to win a skein. :)
This is the first podcast of you, that I have listened. I love to hear it. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love your podcast! I have been listening since episode 1 and I enjoy it every time. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Malabrigo colour is Amoroso.
Enjoyed the podcast as usual, how lovely that the Malabrigo sweater went to a deserving home. If I could win a skein I would love the Amoroso colour way.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the story that you featured on the podcast. How great that after all those problems and frustration, she was able to do something so wonderful with her finished project. I have not done anything so selfless with malabrigo and have only made myself a pair of mittens with it. But I did love it so much that I considered making a pair of fingerless mitts with it out of sunset. What a great color and yarn.
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your podcast a couple of months ago and I've really been enjoying it. I've also really liked reading your blog and looking at all of the beautiful things you knit. If I won a skein of Malabrigo, I'd love it in the color Polar Morn.
ReplyDeleteAs always, a great show! I've only knit Malabrigo sock yarn in Impressionist Blue, and it made amazing socks. I really wanted to keep them for myself, but my Mom admired them so much when they were on the needles that she'll be getting them for Hanukkah. I would love to try Malabrigo sock yarn in the Botticelli Red!
ReplyDeleteI just found your podcast when you posted on the Malabrigo Junkies group on Ravelry. Wonderful stuff :-).
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose just one colour of malabrigo from Dancing Ewes selection (and I'm not sure it's right to make anyone choose just one colour) I think it would have to be Forest. Of course I will probably change my mind in the next few minutes here...but at least I have now posted my comment.
Great podcast! I know how you feel about Ysolda patterns. I made an Ishbel and am itching to start a Damson when I have time...
ReplyDeleteMalabrigo is my fave yarn - my sister sent me 2 skeins of worsted to knit a scarf when I was a beginner, so I was hooked from the start! I would love a skein in Jewel Blue...
love me some malabrigo - any color but i do love bobby blue.
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance
Great podcast! I'd like moss or sapphire green if I win :)

ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work on the podcasts!
I love your Ceder Leaf Shawlette and would love to win some malabrigo sock yarn in Eggplant!
ReplyDeleteI love the Forest color! It looks a little more variegated that what I've seen at my own LYS.
ReplyDeleteI <3 the polar moon worsted. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the podcast. You keep me happy at work where I am not knitting but dreaming about it. I need a skein of malabrigo like everyone else...thanks for making us all smile.
ReplyDeleteLove the show, and love malabrigo!
ReplyDeleteJust added your podcast - glad to have found it! Love Malabrigo too - I just finished my 1st project with it.
ReplyDeleteIf I win, I'd like worsted-Marine. Thanks so much!
Hi Alana, I loved Gayle's story. Never tried Malabrigo worsted, but would love to, in a dark grey charcoly colour. :)
ReplyDeleteI just started listening to your podcast. Very fun. Can't wait to get to my LYS and feel the Malabrigo yarns and see the Amorosa colorway up close and personal.
ReplyDeleteLove your podcast! I love Malabrigo as well...economical and soooo soft. I'd love to try the Blue Graphite colorway. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat episode! I'm still waiting to find the perfect Malabrigo project. I'm sure I will find it soon -- can't decide whether I need to pick the color or the project first. What a quandry!
ReplyDeleteMy first time listening, really enjoy your blog. Just a beginner! I think the Malabrigo Pralines is nice.
ReplyDeleteI too love Malabrigo. I made a February Lady Sweater in the Stone Blue color. It's soft and comfy!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your podcast and I enjoy them. The Malabrigo (esp Moss) is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love that Polar Moon!
ReplyDeleteHave used the sock and the lace weight and love both to bits - now want the worsted! Love the show xx
ReplyDeleteTerrific episode! Not usually a faithful podcast listener, but I'm looking forward to your future episodes!
ReplyDeleteNow I want to knit a sweater from Malabrigo even more than before!
ReplyDeleteJackie
Malabrigo is the best ever. It is so soft! I'd love to win Sotobosque or really any color. They're all wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteOh I think my favorite color is the Sapphire Green. Great podcast as always.
ReplyDeleteI came upon your podcast while I was looking for quilting podcasts. Your show is such a professional production. I wonder how you are able to do so much. I have been faithful in listening to each podcast in order and not jumping ahead, which is difficult because I know that I am missing out on putting my name in the drawings, but I don’t want to miss a word. You are such a great storyteller and your product reviews are great. I live in Alaska and I am lucky to have a very small yarn shop (it is also an art gallery) in my town but you have opened up the world of knitting to me. I wasn’t aware of all the modern patterns that there are. Although I am a chunky middle aged mom I have a daughter and daughter-in-law and a daughter-in-law to be that would look great in your creatations. I can now add to my gift giving options. I thougth I was stuck with bulky sweaters and socks! I can’t wait to try the Malabrio yarn in the Lettuce color. Please pick me or I will have to buy it myself. Thanks also for the product review on the knit picks needles. I have rheumatoid arthritis and in the Arthritis Today magazine it has suggested that knitters use circular or DP needles since it keeps your hands and shoulders closer to the body and less stress on the elbows, shoulders and hands. They also suggest using wooded needles to keep the hands warm. I have been doing this and it has been the difference between me knitting and having too much joint pain to knit. I will be purchasing a set of the interchangeable needles with the next pay check, call it Christmas present to self. I look forward to each episode and I will be buying your new green leave shawl pattern to make for myself. Denise
