My second Cedar Leaf Shawlette is now finished!
I'm so happy to have another in a different color. This one goes perfectly with my winter coat.
Also, this will be the sample that travels around in my trunk show.
So if your local yarn shop is carrying my patterns, you might get to see this one in person.

This was knit from 2 skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino.
I have no idea how I squeezed it out of only 2 skeins!
I think I've been rather stressed lately so I must be knitting tightly. :)
I used the beautiful gray colorway "Smoke".
(Yarn available here. Pattern available here.)

My favorite thing about this pattern is seeing the leaves overlap eachother.
I love knitted leaves.. and seeing them altogether like that.. just makes me happy. :)
I also really enjoy wearing the shawlette wrapped around my neck (as shown above)
so that all the leaves are showing at once.

So far this design has proved to be a very wearable knit for me.
This is the first scarf I go for in the morning. I hope to make more in different colors soon. Wouldn't it look gorgeous in an autumn colorway?

Oh, how pretty is that! I wish my circular needles would hurry up and be delivered so I could start this...
ReplyDeleteGosh, that is stunning! Your first was glorious, and this is so subtley elegant :)
ReplyDeleteWow soo beautiful! Love the color - and the new closeups! :) I think I need to take my shawlette project with me to work today and cross my fingers that there won´t be _too_ many patients :)
ReplyDeleteLove it in this smokey color!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that is beautiful! I love the color too. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, isn't it gorgeous! I love how you layer it on your neck - you're like a beautiful flower surrounding by layers of leaves!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!
I will be doing this after the holidays. I love it in the grey, and I love it in the silky merino. I am knitting so much for others, this will be a gift to myself (My birthday is in January - I think I will ask for lots of YARN)
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty!! Looks gorgeous in the dark grey.
ReplyDeleteIt is breath taking! I just joined the Never Not Knitting group on ravelry, once I get the right yarn I sign up for the knit along!!!

ReplyDeleteAlana, That one is so lovely & the color is so right! for the leaf design. I'm hoping mine looks as nice when I can get it done.
ReplyDeleteI love that you show how it looks on a real person - it really shows off the pattern well! Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteewwwwww...so pretty Alana! I'm gonna buy this one for sure!
ReplyDeleteHommage to Jared Flood? He uses a lot of dark grey too.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf is elegant in this shade, almost as pretty as the green one.

ReplyDeleteI love that colourway! And the way the leaves all show is so pretty! This is a great pattern, Alana.
ReplyDeleteI love this color SO MUCH!
ReplyDeleteI really like the pattern. If I didn´t have so many things going on right now and being 32 weeks pregnant doesn´t help I would totally be making one.
ReplyDeleteIt is GORGEOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous in that gray. I'm definitely going to cast on for this. Just have to finish a couple WIP's first. I need this scarf!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the color!!! In the detail pic the variegation within the smoke is so intriguing...gotta get me some of that!!! It looks absolutely beautiful on you too!!!
ReplyDeleteI love both of them but my favorite by far is the green colorway. It is simply stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love this scarf in both colours, but it looks fantastic in this one! Actually, seeing this made me think of some gray yarn I have in my stash . . . hmm, I think I may have to cast this on soon! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love it love it love it!!!!! I love all the different knitted leaf patterns! This is just gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to cast on for the Cedar Leaf Shawlette. .. and I have three skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino that has been looking for a project. Now here it is.
ReplyDeleteI have already made 2 cedar leaf scarfs and am starting a third. I love this pattern and how it lays so nicely over my shoulders.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I was in Loops this morning and nearly missed the CLS kits they had...I've been coveting it ever since I saw your ad banner on Ravelry. I bought the natural/undyed kit and it's already on the needles!
