Introducing... The Spring Garden Tee for adults!
Since I came out with the original Spring Garden Tee for little girls last year, so many of you have requested a grown up version. I hope you like it!
The Adult Spring Garden Tee is reminiscent of the children's pattern, but includes some more sophisticated, mature styling details. I love the new wide scoop neckline and the delicate sleeves. I also added waist shaping and extended the length on this version.
The result is a basic, well-fitting tee that is elegant, feminine and flattering. I hope that you enjoy making and wearing it!
I knit this up out of Be Sweet Bamboo which is an exceptionally beautiful yarn. The slight color variation, sheen and drape make the piece lay so nicely and look so decadent. The Champagne color that I used is such a great neutral that can extend even into the cooler months. I think that this top will also serve as a great layering piece in the fall.
Here is the pattern information for all of you interested in knitting it:

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful! I love the length; it really does make the tee more sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are gorgeous, and they really show off the beautiful Tee to perfection. Being a greeneyed blonde, I would love to knit this in the olive green shade.
ReplyDeleteWow. That is gorgeous - I am not normally a fan of knitted tees, but i think I might just have to make this one for myself! (in a few months - it's midwinter here now!) Truly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI also have a question though - that skirt looks awesome with it - where can I get one?
Beautiful top, and I love the photography too!

ReplyDeleteLovely pattern! I think I would like to make it in the rose pink...or maybe sky blue....
ReplyDeleteIt is simple yet elegant. Would love it in almost any color.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful design, it's just what I've been looking for! I have a fit question: the design has 0 ease, and that's great, but is the model wearing it with 0 ease or with negative ease or?? I get a little hung up on that when trying to pick a size. Is she wearing her exact bust measurement? Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteHi Ninja Ryder:
ReplyDeleteThe model measures 32" and is wearing a size 32. So 0 inches of positive ease. The top is 100% bamboo though so it has a tendency to stretch and not cling tightly to the body. If you were using a different fiber, there might be a difference in fit.
:) Hope this helps!
Thanks, just ordered the pattern. It's really so pretty! I love the sleeves, especially.
