  2. I enjoyed listening to this episode very much. I had to laugh as you commented on seeing Debbie Bliss at TNNA. I too get star-struck when seeing what I consider a celebrity of the knit world. I was fortunate to see Nicky Epstein at Stitches West one year. We were riding up the escalator at the same time, and I thought, ok say something, this is your chance. I did and she responded and it was a very nice mini interchange that I'll always remember.

  5. Oh, this was a great podcast! I did a happy dance on the exercise machine when I heard you met Debbie Bliss.

I loved Kirsten's story. It's always great to hear the voices behind the designers.

I hope you accomplish your goal of completing the patterns by Stitches West and more importantly, that you get well and stay that way.

  8. Great podcast - I really felt for Kirsten - it's my nightmare that my needles will be taken away by airport security so I always run some scrap yarn through my stitches just in case ...

  11. Wow, that was fun...my first time listening to your podcasts, while sittin' an' knittin'...and watching cricket ;- ). Told the boys I was listening to something very important (no interruptions please)...now have to break the news that I have another 47 important things to go back and listen to ;P. ( I hope the previous podcasts are all still available!). Thanks for the entertainment :)

  17. It was great to hear from Kirsten and especially great to hear that she got her luggage back. This episode made me want to knit more TTL designs and made me want to get started on some handmade Christmas stockings for my family because I just love that her family's handmade stockings are so essential to Christmas that they were willing to fly them all the way to Italy.

  18. They way you imagine encountering Debbie Bliss is how I imagine it would be like to meet Jared Flood from Brooklyntweed. Glad you met your knit-shero, I hope someday I'll meet my knit-hero.
Thanks for reminding me to keep my hand knitted goods close. Kristen's story reminded me of how many wonderful memories my hand knits carry.
Your podcast is uplifting, informative and heartwarming-Thanks!

  23. I was apalled at the thought of 17 hrs without knitting stuck on a plane. I loved the episode and am thrilled at the hapy ending of the story. I also love the song thanks for sharing it.

  24. I think if my needles were taken at the airport and the lady who took them did a little dance, I would have to break down and cry!
    That was just mean!

I think I would have loved to talk with Debbie Bliss, too. :)

  29. I can't believe I just listened to my first podcast - ever. I enjoyed it so much. I do so many of my knitting related activities online -- downloading patterns, watching instructional videos, reading blogs, purchasing yarn, etc. that I'm not sure why "listening" never occurred to me. What a great way to start a Saturday - sipping coffee, knitting, and listening to your podcast. I'll be back!

  37. Meeting Debbie Bliss must have been...well, blissful! Great podcast. Can't wait for Stitches West!

  38. I thought it was pretty cool you got to see Debbie Bliss un-tangling yarn just like we all do. Plus the story about the lost knitting made me decide to do the same as Kristen and place it all in my carry on. I'd hate to have the heartbreak of thinking stuff knitted by my mom and grandma were missing forever.
