The Spring Issue of Knitcircus magazine is out!
Inside you will find 2 little surprises from me.
One is this little pattern I contributed...
The Roses Are Red headband for little girls.
This little headband is so fun and quick to knit up! It's a perfect way to use up all of those little extra balls of leftover sock yarn that we all have laying around.
I used Louet Gems Fingering Weight yarn for this sample and I really enjoyed how it worked up.
There is also a significant color range available, so you have many options for creating a unique, creative piece.
I've been knitting up headbands for my daughter for years now, its only recently that I decided to write up some patterns. They are such a fun, cute little accessory and my little one has always received many compliments when she wears them.
This pattern is available in the Knitcircus Spring Issue pattern collection which is available for purchase HERE.
I really enjoyed this issue, there are so many cute patterns! I know you will too.
Besides the headband pattern.. you will also find this 6 page spread about Never Not Knitting!
I had the awesome privilege of being interviewed by Jaala for this issue.
So much fun! I hope you enjoy reading it!
I'm sure all of you long time readers will recognize some of these photos. :)
You will find the interview HERE.
Jaala, the Knitcircus editor, has kindly provided me with 3 copies of the Spring Issue pattern collection to give away to 3 of my readers!
If you would like to enter to win, please leave a comment under this drawing post telling me what you thought of the current Knitcircus Issue!
Ill be choosing 3 commenters at random and will announce the winners on February 10th.
Enjoy! :)

KnitCircus! perfect! thank you for the opportunity. I would love to win.
I loved the interview with you--the background of how you became a podcaster and designer. The article Armholes: a New Attitude is really helpful to me as that is a problem fitting area.
Ooh, another giveaway! Love the headband, very cute. It's a very cute issue.
The last couple issues of Knit Circus have been improving. They've been catching my interest more, at least. :)
It's hard to pick a favorite out of it. The articles really caught my eye this time around!
This is the first time I've looked at KnitCircus. Wow! I love this! Thanks for the intro.

Such a cute headband! I'd love to win the magazine.
This issue of Knitcircus looks really good! I'd love to have a copy with the cute headband!
Of all the patterns in there, Alcea was the one that caught my eye and said "Make me!" I love little colorful things like that to brighten up my boring black and gray wool coats. Some interesting articles on working with lightweight yarns, too.
This is a beautifully styled magazine - would love to see a hard copy!
Congratulations, what success! You deserve it!
This is my first time reading KnitCircus and love it. Thanks so much for the interview and pattern. Very, Very nice!
I have seen some of the patterns in that magazine and they all look really neat!
Issue has a lot of patterns I would like to make! I like the set up of the magazine.

Alana, The Roses ar Red headbands are adorable. I have 3 daughters, two which would love to have one. My oldest though is a tomboy so she would like something else. Congrats on the spread in Knitcircus Mag! I would love to win.
I really enjoyed the article on light weight yarns. I have accumlated quite a collection of lace and sock weight yarns, and the information was so very helpful! Your headband, by the way, is adorable.
Congratulations on being a centerfold! The headband and flowers are absolutely adorable!
I love this issue...cute mitts and beautiful shawls. The kids sweater Squirm is perfect. Your headband is so sweet and I know my daughter would love one - perfect use for my sock yarn scraps.
How exciting! I haven't heard about this magazine, but being a new-ish knitter, I'd love to get more familiar with what resources are out there for me!

Love the new issue. Such wonderful patterns.
Love the headband and the flowers/leaf - I can see using these to dress up other projects.
Congrats on being interviewed for Knit Circus! The patterns look great. Your little is such a cutie!
I love that hairband - may have to upsize it for me!
I discovered Knit Circus through your podcast. I really liked the color photographs and the layout is great for reading. Your interview was wonderful. I knew you put a lot of time into the podcasts but it was great to see and hear more from you.
Congrats on publishing another great pattern, AND scoring an article! (oh, and thanks for the giveaway!)
Congrats on publishing another great pattern, AND scoring an article! (oh, and thanks for the giveaway!)
Knit Circus has some interesting articles, but I'd never buy the issues because I can't get them to print properly. I always get 2 pages cramped onto one 8-1/2 x 11 landscape page. The text is too small to read comfortably. I've tried everything to get the pages to print one page at a time on one 8-1/2 x 11 sheet, but it just doesn't work. I've given up on this e-magazine. Thanks much.
I thought it was a strong issue. I really really like those slanting rib socks which, oddly, aren't in Ravelry. So I'd love to win the pattern collection!
I really, really enjoyed the latest issue and loved reading the interview with you.
I haven't seen the issue yet but would love to win a copy!
I love your article about podcasting and designing!
Love the issue and the interview was great! The headband model did a very good job, too!
I can't wait to get this issue, I'm so excited for you! Your daughter just keep getting cuter, love that adorable smile.

I've never heard of this magazine. I hope I win.
I love the magazine. I just found it the other day thanks to your post. I can't believe they have so much info online. Morethan a lot of the print magazines I get.
Your headband looks so adorable!
Congratulations! That's great and the headband is so cute :D too bad I don't have a little girl in the family to knit it for...
Congratulations on being featured in Knitcircus! I always like the magazine but I loved this issue. I love your headband pattern and also both sock patterns and the Blue Lupine Mitts. Thanks for the giveaway.
Your pattern is beautiful, and I also really liked all the children's patterns in this issue, I've been looking for thing to knit for my girls!
I thought your interview was the most fun part of the magazine, and loved your pattern. (Did you notice the pattern for a cowl in this issue? With its mention of short sleeves, and its matching colors, I couldn't tell if the pattern was for only the cowl or for the sweater too -- your contribution was much clearer, as always!) I can't wait to knit the sweet little flowers.
I thought that was a really lovely interview! You must be so proud!
As I was reading this issue, I just kept thinking how nice it was published. KnitCircus is now in my top 3 publications! Along with IK, Vogue Knitting and now this one. That headband would look AMAZING with your little girl's dress pattern, Very Cherry. =] Bren
Ohhh..what an adorale headband!! Love the sweet little roses!!
I love all the patterns, but of course I enjoyed your interview and the beautiful pictures of your daughter.

Your headband was actually one of my favorite patterns in this issue! The pictures of the little rosettes are so alluring.
Love Squirm for grandson #2
Great episode as usual and so fun to check out Knitcircus! I really enjoyed the article about choosing and using lightweight yarns - I'm starting to use these types of yarns more so this was really informative! This is an amazing issue. Love the lightweight yarn review, technique tips, and especially reading about you, Alana, as I am a pretty new listener to your podcast. It does sound like a ton of work to put in but you are lucky to be doing what you love.
The issue was great, but your pattern is definitely the cutest!
Love that you are a part of KintCircus contemporary publication!
Ooh! I've never seen this magazine before. That article on armhole construction looks awesome. I haven't actually done armholes on a grown-up garment yet, but I'll be there in a week, I hope. ;)

It looks like a great magazine. Thanks for the chance to win.
After a long work week, I was so stoked to realize I'd forgotten to go and get the latest podcast. Yay. Listening now, reading through Knitcircus right now. Better than a cookies and milk treat.
I want to make thoes Blue Lupine Mitts in the issue. They're about the most delicious thing I saw, next to little Miss 5-year-old Dakos! She is scrumptious.
Oh, and then I just now saw the Hazelnut macaroons on page 100. Really think I might make some right now!!
