I loved your afghan story! I have a similar quilting story involving postage sized pieces of fabric that a friend thought I should turn into a quilt. It was her mother's UFO and she had recently died, and I knew how to quilt so obviously I was the one who should finish it. Argghh, before I knew what I was doing, my hand reached my hand out for the yellowed bag, gad, now I was in for it. I finally got the courage to give it back explaining it would probably never get done by me. I felt so guilty, but really, why should I? Oh dear, the things we do for love, right?

I'm so glad you're back. When I found out about your podcast I was thrilled and then two episodes later you announced you were done with it! The humanity! But I kept up with your blog and low and behold, you're back. Welcome, I'm thrilled again.
Your story made me laugh. It made me think about the time my friends mom-in-law wanted me to finish knitting a baby sweater that she had asked a lady in hospice to make for her grandson. She passed away right after she started the sweater. I was sure the request was what did her in. Luckily there was only about an inch of the sweater done so I was able to start over and not have to match gauge. Guilt, obligation and friendship will make you do crazy things!
