The child who isn't currently outgrowing, will eventually, trust me! My son was slow to gain weight, but is now almost 6' 7" tall! I did love knitting for both of my now grown children. and I did teach my daughter to knit. She loved to help me knit chemo caps, just knitting in circles until the skein was finished. Now, she's so busy with university she has not time to knit :(

As a teacher, I can attest that kids are still reading...and yes electronics are a big draw, so e-readers are becoming popular and I've read kids stories from my nook...but I just had a fantastic discussion about The Hunger Games with my 5th grade class...I also teach an after-school crochet class which has been very popular...I'm not goof enough at knitting to teach it..
