My mind keeps going back to how you spin pearls into yarn. I guess they must grind the pearls and do some type of processing similar to viscose to get a thread? Curious minds want to know (and want to win that yarn and pattern).

Hello ! Black pearl sounds divine. I am trying to knit through my stash before I move aboard my boat to live. I made a promise not to increase my stash until I use up all my stash. So if I was super luck enough to win this yarn I would have to knit up straight away Orchid Thief, I mean if the yarn does not actually go in to the stash cupboard then it really isn't actually stash! I love, love, love that story! How true...I think we all feel a bit like surgeons when working to correct a pattern. Like a doctor knows the body, a knitter knows their stitches and fibres!

I frogged the Orchid Thief 3 times before finding the right yarn for it. Finally I ended up using some hot pink yarn my daughter picked out with some hot pink beads (cause she wanted it to be sparkely) in the winter it is one of the few garments I can get her to wear on a cold day.
