I love green too!!
ReplyDeleteI love the cedar leaf shawlette!
ReplyDeleteYour cedar leaf design is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteanother great episode- love the shawlette as well!
ReplyDeleteHi! In the last week I have listened to all of your padcasts..and I am soo addicted! I especially loved your stories on how you got started, your stash collection and the knitting phases - I can sooo recognize that from myself :)
ReplyDeleteLove the shawlette, I think I would go for the Topaz color, love that color!
Karen (lindse at ravelry)
Gorgeous design and perfect color for your shawlette! Nice story too.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Jolly Green Giant story, too funny! You already know I love your shawl, you are really making want some of the Godiva yarn right now!
ReplyDeleteYour best pattern yet, in my opinion! I love the cedar color too.
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast as usual. The Peridot is really a great color. I love verigated yarn.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Jolly Green Giant story. Amazing! I cringe at the thought of making a cabled sweater for anyone bigger than a 2 year old!
ReplyDeleteThe shawlette is awesome too! I like the knitted on edging. No picking up! I think it'd look lovely in the chocolate, but I love the amethyst colorway!
Just discovered your podcast after finally learning how to knit & love them!!! There is nothing like the feeling of sitting down to knit with a cup of tea after getting my 5 month old to bed I would love to win the cedar colour!!
ReplyDeleteI love the shawlette. Also the green, but it's not a flattering color for me, so my fave is amethyst.
ReplyDeleteThe shawlette is lovely! I do think the green (cedar) is pretty even though I can't see the brown. I like the chocolate too-mmmmmmmm. Maybe a new shade with more golden, orange and red with the brown.......??? :)
ReplyDeleteAlana, great podcast! And I love, love, love the cedar shawlette! I've even forwarded it to a dog friend of mine who is an avid knitter and she's also excited about getting started! I'm waiting with baited breath for the pattern to come out, I have yarn and I'm ready to start, so it's the 16th and still no pattern available. *sniff* I am hoping to make several as they will be my annual Christmas gift project for my friends. Please tell me that the pattern is ready for purchase!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Jolly Green Giant story, too! Quite a project! I think I probably would have given up, it took so long to complete. But it came out lovely and I'm sure Nic's Dad is thrilled.
I love the Handmaiden Cedar Green. I did try to find it in my LYS without success. I purchased a cotton yarn from Arucania which hopefully will have the right amount drape. I also have some merino wool in my stash, but you have mentioned that it won't have the right sheen or drape, so that may have to be put on the burner for something else. So should I win your contest (not likely, I have the worst luck!) I'd love the Handmaiden in the cedar, thanks!
Can't wait to see what else you have "cooked up" in your head for a design. I'm going for surgery in Jan. and will have a long recuperation, so I will have plenty of time for knitting. Now I just need plenty of money to fund my habit! LOL!
Love the podcast!
ReplyDeleteBoth Green and Topaz would be gorgeous.
I'd agree with you, Cedar is my pick for that shawlette as well.
ReplyDeleteYay, a new episode! Now to find a quiet moment to listen.
ReplyDeleteI love your podcasts and I am trying to catch up older ones...I am off on vacation this Thursday and I will be listening to you on the plane ;)
ReplyDeleteAnother great one! LOL at the jolly green giant. My husband is 6'5" - poor guy will never get a sweater!!! Love the shawlette. I like the Cedar colorway, but am intrigued by the Peridot.
ReplyDeleteLovely yarn and cute pattern. I think amethyst is the prettiest.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I loved today's episode!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Jolly Green Giant story!! And, can I just comment that Nic's voice COMPLETELY relaxes me?!! I must've replayed just her part at least 4 times..haha..
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the Cedar colorway..congratulations on your pattern!! :D It's wonderful--I hope I get to try it. :)
Love the peridot color -- though for your shawl, cedar is perfect! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteCedar! It's perfect for this shawl! I faved it on Ravelry days ago and have been eagerly awaiting the pattern. I'm so pleased to hear that it will be available soon.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed listening to your podcast. Your shawlette is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love your podcast. so glad I found it! I love green too!!
ReplyDeletei do love the cedar color with that pattern. that yarn looks so yummy and your pattern is quite beautiful! the peridot and smoke are also lovely colors.
ReplyDeletei love your podcasts and the stories and reviews. thank you!!
I just LOVE the cedar, too! Amazing color...and just lovely in your pattern. Congrats on the great work!
ReplyDeleteI wanna knit this now!
Cnyttan
(Krystn Madrine)
That yarn is gorgeous and so is the colourway. Thank you for your podcast.
ReplyDeleteOh, so many pretty colors! I love the Salt Spray!
ReplyDeleteOoooooo, amethyst for sure!!! Your new design is very appealing. I've been getting into knitted on edges lately.
ReplyDeleteThe cedar leaf shawlette is a beautiful design. I'd love to knit it & I'm adding it to my rav queue! It's gorgeous in the green colorway but I think it would be even more spectacular in the Amethyst colorway.
ReplyDeletethe design of the leaf shawl is gorgeous. I have to say i normally don't like green it just look right with the leafes and very autumny.
ReplyDeleteI had to get the pattern right away but please enter me anyway as I would give the extra one to my friend, Marnie. I too love the green but I think it would be equally as gorgeous in ivory.
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast - loved the green giant story!
I had already faved your pattern, it's gorgeous! Then I ran across this post, and had to enter; I adore the Amethyst color.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Green!!!! I can't wait to make the shawlette! And I agree that it should be made with green to enhance the leaves! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLURVE lurve lurve the Salt Spray. OMGAZZ0RZ.
ReplyDeleteI love all the colours, but my favourite has to be Amethyst. Love your podcast and contests!
ReplyDeleteJust ordered my kit. Can't wait to start on it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see this in Peridot. Thanks for the podcast and great pattern!
ReplyDeleteI love the peridot. THanks for the fun podcast and the wonderful pattern. I like many of the others have it in my Ravelry favs.
ReplyDeleteThe shawl is beautiful. Lovely and perfect color.
ReplyDeleteYour Cedar Leaf design is so beautiful! I have such a love of leaves and have to agree that the cedar colorway is an amazing match for it. You did an amazing job. Amethyst would also be lovely (purple is my favorite color).
ReplyDelete-Johanna
The Cedar leaf design is beautiful, sea spray would be my choice of colour.
ReplyDeleteXtian
I just ordered some Handmaiden Sea Silk in Cedar - I'm a big fan of rich greens and they are hard to find.
ReplyDeleteAs for Lady Godiva I think the Smoke colorway is fantastic. It's like a cloudy/pearly sky. I love overcast days because all other colors seem to pop in that light as if you're walking around in a dream. Ok I'm officially weird.
I'm tempted to join your KAL but short rows are my enemy, I just can't understand them.
Although I love the cedar(knitting the Cat Bordhi Riverbed sock pattern with Cedar Casbah) I would have to go with the Amethyst colorway. I'm blond and have green eyes, and the Amethyst is a good look for me. Love the shawlette. Any ideas what to do with 2 skeins of Camelspin?
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty piece!! I can see why you are so excited about your new pattern. I would love to knit one in that "cedar" colorway, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker with anything with a leaf pattern! Beautiful!
ReplyDelete"Salt Spray" is my favorite shade of Lady Godiva. Your knitting and photography are exquisite.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is gorgeous. I love the cedar color you selected.
ReplyDeleteI love the green too. Perfect color for the cedar leaf shawlette
ReplyDeleteIt may be cliched, but I think cedar is the one for this piece. I love peridot and salt, but they would just look washed out, and amethyst looks wrong with the leaves. (Woodland would look lovely as well.)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Cedar.....the perfect green for this project!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with everyone else--that green is THE perfect color! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI love the green also...Although there is a colorway which I'm eager to try. Peridot is my daughters birthstone; Okay call me sentimental!
ReplyDeleteAlana this pattern is just gorgeous. And yes, the cedar looks fantastic on you. I have just been over to the website to look at the colours and I just love the Amethyst.
ReplyDeleteThe cedar leaf shawllette is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colour is Amethyst.
Beautiful! I love the new shawlette and any color would be beautiful but I too think the cedar does make the pattern look its best!
ReplyDeleteNic's story! How wonderful and thanks for the new blog to read!
Darlene, a fan in PEI
Your shawlette is gorgeous, especially in the cedar color!
ReplyDeleteBeth
The Cedar looks stunning with your complexion. Love the new design -- great episode, as always!
ReplyDeleteYour new Cedar Leaf Shawlette is a winner! As much as I love it in the cedar, I'd have to knit it in that gorgeous peridot colorway.
ReplyDeleteAlana, I love your podcast! Your shawlette is gorgeous! My favorite color is green too. I love your podcast music: "...and it's makin' her husband mad...her husband mad..." gets stuck in my head the rest of the day. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win! I've just gotten the shawl/lace yarn bug. I'd pick either the colors Cedar or Smoke. Thanks for the offer! I saw the sample of your actual written pattern on your blog. The actual written pattern design really nice, I like the layout you did for it.
ReplyDeleteLoved Nic's story. My hubbie is 6'4" - I'm working on a vest for him, and still have hopes of finishing it for Christmas...
ReplyDeleteThe Lady Godiva yarn sounds so wonderful. I agree, the Cedar is beautiful, but I think my favorite - today, at least - is the Topaz.
Thanks for another great podcast!
Oh my gosh I LOVE the amethyst colour. Handmaiden ROCKS!!! Another great episode Alana, thanks. :)
ReplyDelete-Sarah
great episode!!!! love the story, my 7 yr old listened to and is waiting for the next episode and also waiting for me to knit her a cedar leaf shawlette too!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Alana, on yet another beautifully produced design. You chose a gorgeous yarn for it. I'm partial to the Topaz colorway :)
ReplyDeleteI loved Nic's story--I'm sure many of us can relate!
I loved this show! Nic's story was so fun. And now that I'm learning how to wear a scarf for "fashion" I'm liking the shawlette idea. My choice would be Peridot if I win!
ReplyDeleteLove your podcasts! I finally got caught up listening to all of them in enough time to enter one of the drawings!! Woot!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is the Amethyst! :D
What a beautiful design. I love the cedar, too
ReplyDeleteI love your podcast (as I already told you on twitter). This is an awesome giveaway. I have been eyeing this pattern since I started listening a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for what you do. It's awesome and inspiring the passion you have for knitting and design. PS. I want the ivory to go with my green winter coat:).
ReplyDeleteOK so I'm loving the shawlette and the ivory would go with everything. I love your podcast and your daughter is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteI am always drawn to darker colors, so my eyes like Amethyst and cedar best. But my practical side would probably have me choose ivory, which is also beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour shawlette is just lovely. I'm inspired and really enjoyed hearing your review of the yarn. My favorite color of the Lady Godiva yarn is Amethyst although I see it's currently sold out. I agree that the Cedar colorway is a sensible choice for the pattern.
ReplyDeleteGreat show. I would love to join your KAL, but alas, Christmas knitting awaits! Cedar was a great choice for the shawlette, but I think I will do mine in Peridot. Hopefully I can start December 26th!
ReplyDeleteDeanne (Knitaroo on Rav)
This is a beautiful pattern. And green is my favorite color. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely design. And you're right, that Cedar is just perfection.
ReplyDeleteSelkie on Ravelry
I hope I win! I choose the Cedar as well. I neeeeeed this shawlette.

i'm all caught up listening to your podcasts, and i've thoroughly enjoyed it.
ReplyDeletei bought your lovely shawl pattern and was planning to knit it in red, but changed my mind and decided to use DIC in happy forest green.
i hope mine is as lovely as yours. :)
love the shawlette, i love the amethyst color.
ReplyDeleteI really like the cedar. I tend to buy green yarn nearly every time I shop (my favorite color). I'd love to see the yarn in a goldy/yellow/orangeish/rust autumn color way. I know my Mom would love the pattern in that color. But the green would be for me!
ReplyDeleteOHH I love the green also and the amethyst too...either would be wonder ful1.
ReplyDeleteThe shawl is gorgeous!
Wow. I have added the Cedar Leaf Shawlette to my queue on Rav. I checked out the colours of the yarn and loved them all. Surprise surprise, there has been a rush on the Cedar and they are out of stock!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't think I'd have to check out the colors to choose my favorite... I'm a green person too. But I did, and no surprise, I love the Cedar with the Peridot a close second.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shawlette and awesome yarn choice!!
I really enjoy listening to your podcasts while I knit on the train to and from work.
I absolutely adore this pattern! Yay! Cedar IS the best colorway for this pattern. So happy you have designed something for women specifically. I have recently discovered knitting and I love your taste but have no children to knit for as my friends and I are still a bit too young. This scarf would be so fetching with my grey dress...sigh. Thank you so much for all the helpful reviews and hilarious stories. You can find me on ravelry as scholarknits
ReplyDeleteI love this podcast especially the jolly green giant story. I like the topaz colorway in lady godiva.
ReplyDeleteI found your podcast while searching for some to load onto my mp3 player. I am over halfway through all of them and LOVE them. They are the best. I recently was in my LYS, and apparently I was humming or singing your theme song, and the lady shopping next to me started to sing along, it was pretty funny. Since my favorite color is green as well, I would have to say the Cedar is my favorite, but I am sure I could find something to do with any of the colors.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Jolly Green Giant story. She is a great storyteller and I love hearing it in her accent. The Shawlette is very lovely as well.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to pick a Godiva color, I would have to pick Topaz, with Cedar being next.

Another awesome episode! Can't wait to knit the shawlette!
ReplyDeleteThe shawlette is lovely, would not have thought of wearing it with the widest part at the front - great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe yarn colours so nice - I'm torn between amethyst and peridot
What a lovely shawlette! And I loved Nic's story.
ReplyDeleteI love the Ceder Leaf, I'm not usually a big fan of green but yours looks so great I'd love one in that colourway too.
ReplyDeleteI just started listening to your podcast last week and am almost caught up. I've listened to many other podcasts and yours has quickly become one of my favorites ... it's actually about KNITTING. I love the stories and reviews. Thank you so much for all the information and entertainment.
ReplyDeleteLove the cedar. Have cast on the shawelette and having a great time, of course just completed the first 6 rows...onto the short rows. Densie
ReplyDeletetoday I heart your podcast, i like to knit and hear it.
ReplyDeletethe pattern of your cedar is very gorgeous!
my favourit colour is smoke.
I am a long time listener of the podcast - all the way from the start. I have really enjoyed seeing all of your designs coming to life - I especially love your newest one and think it would lovely in all of the colours - if I had to choose for me I would go with the peridot
ReplyDeleteThis shawlette is very tempting... : )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design. It would definitely be lovely in the topaz colorway.
ReplyDeleteI am very fond of the Cedar color. The shawl is lovely and would be equally as pretty in any fall, earthy color.
ReplyDeleteI am sure I will make a green one now. Searching hard for the right shade as we speak! I love this shawlette.

The green is truly beautiful and I can see why you love it. I feel the same way about blue and would choose their Ocean colorway. Can't wait to knit up this lovely pattern.
