As a bona fide cat lover I really enjoyed Christa's essay :)
The giveaway is going to be fabulous.

I knitted the booties that you mentioned in the podcast. I used a sport weight yarn and here is the Ravelry page that shows my nephew modeling them. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/elenorgamgee/saartjes-bootees

They are the green ones and if I remember right I did the size with 15 stitches on either side.

Hope this helps you!

Sorry, suffering from technological confusion. I'm looking forward to more yarns arriving in the Pigenonroof Studios shop.

Your podcast is my favorite one. Love your voice, the great mix of content and the giveaways ;-) Glad to hear you are feeling better. If you are not sure about the baby booties, try the stay-on baby socks at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stay-on-baby-booties-4 I made them in 4 ply and 6 ply sock yarn in both sizes, which fit newborn to six month old. And they really do stay on!

Another lovely wee podcast. With reference to the saartje booties. I made them a few days ago. Using Debbie Bliss Cashmerino and the larger size I got 3 1/2" bootees and researching sizes this was 0-3 months or large newborn. I cast on 39 sts and made the same bootee 3 3/4". You easily get 2 pairs from one ball. I made mine slightly shallower for a baby girl like a ballet shoe but the principal the same. On ravelry I'm time-not-cash.
